Here is the fix for red push on these 2 sets, and maybe some more sony sets.

To get in the service menu, starting with tv off, using remote press "display", then "5", then "vol+", then "power". You can exit the service menu at any time by pressing "power" to turn off the tv.

Then press "2" until you see category 2150P4 on the top left hand side, if you pass it, press "5" to go back.

Press "1" until you reach item 7 (AXIS) which is in category 2150P4. If you pass item 7 you can press "4" to go back.

Change the value of AXIS to 1, by pressing "3" or "6", on the remote, you will see the value on the right of the word AXIS change (from 0), you want it to be 1.

Press "mute" and then "enter" to save your change. Switch to each of your other inputs, and then change the value of AXIS to 1 and save ("mute" and then "enter") for each input.

Use "live inputs", you will see the effect of the AXIS change on the fly. It does not have to be done for each picture mode, as SVM does.

This should fix the red push on these sets...

Do you have any idea what the AXIS item is called on the newer Sony Models (KP-65wv600 in my case)? I've gone through the entire service menu and have yet to find an AXIS setting. I looked most intently at the categories that were similar in name to the 2150P4 category that you mentioned. There's no way that Sony would have dropped that setting choice from their service mode.

Thanks,

On the wv series it's RYR.

The RYR setting on my TV has settings from 0 to at least 9 (my tv was already set to 9). Can I assume that 0 is the lowest red push setting?

Thanks,
Charlie

From a wv owner

"Category 2170P4 adjust parameter "RYR" from factory default of "8" to approximately "12" or higher (maximum 15)depending on particular unit.

This definately corrects the red push without otherwise affecting overall color saturation"

Paul,
Something jimmied the domain portion of the url in the link you posted. Can you send it to me? rob@redlt.com

Anyone seen any more of the recommended tweaks for the new sony rpt's? Along with the red push fix I remember there was a setting the improved the black level for my 36 xbr 450 ... is there something like that on the projection sets?

I know when I went up from my 36xbr250 to the 450 the 450 looked worse than my old set (which I'd tweaked) until I performed the similar procedures on the new one. Since a lot of those affect color levels I don't want to do the avia setup til I've de-mainstreamed the set.

thanks for any help ... anyone

Would someone mind reposting that link for the red push fix on the kp**wv models??

I went into my service menu using the above directions, but became very intimidated once I was there. I just recently used the Avia setup disk and have everything right on, except for the red level.

BTW, I too, did not see my set bloom. I am a bit discouraged that white level seems to be such a subjective setting. My set has 64 lines for the different settings and I have white level set at 29. What do you all think?? Too much? Too little? Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!
