Guys...i need some info...Can i use the HD STB i bought from ebay supposedly for Cablevision only and use it on Comcast?

Most cable companies require you to use their own STB. The one you have may or may not be compatible. If it is, they still may not "activate" it. Give them a call and see, but it's unlikely.
The only time I've heard of an activation is if you recently moved to the area, brought the STB with you and could prove you got it from a cable supplier, etc. Or if you purchased it from an "authorized store" (stores would be authorized by the cable company like Cox did/does.) I severely doubt Comcast would authorize an e-bay box.
