46HD83 - Widescreen DVD Question

Just got my 46HD83 today. I am running all video/audio through DENON av receiver. When viewing DVDs, no matter what Pic size I choose, Normal, Theater 1,2,3 or Full, I still get black boxes at top and bottom of screen. I am so afraid of the burn-in, that I am wont' watch the entire DVD.

Is there a setup that I am missing? I thought a widescreen DVD would fill the entire screen? Isn't that why I bought the 16:9 and widescreen DVDs?

Any help would be great.

I figured it out. Needed to adjust DVD player to 16:9 format

DUH DUH DUH.

I am just a newbie - what do you expect.
