HI all, I'm looking at getting the Toshiba 42H83. Now on thier website it states 720p capable. What does this mean? I am looking at hooking my XBOX up to this and want to use 720p where applicable if possible. Will this TV allow me to do this?
Thanks!

Yes.. It accepts 720p and upconverts it to 1080i automatically.. Which is a good thing since some tv's actually downconvert 720p to 480i.

This is great news. All of the other 42" TV's I've seen will not allow you to use XBoX's 720p output. Given that this T.V will, I think its time for a purchase ;)
I was considering the Samsung HCN4226W but that only supports 480i/p and 1080i.
Any one try hooking up you computer via DVI on this set?
How does it look?

Well the most new sets actually upconvert to 1080 from 720. I don't think the Sony does it yet for some odd reason.

True, but from what I have read, the XBOX is very picky. If there is not explicite support for 720p it will not play. It will do 480p though.
Thats what I was worried about, but since the Toshiba does accept 720p signals its all good.

Well the Hitachi also accepts 720p.. Never heard of the xbox being picky with 720p.. The xbox sends 720p and then the tv does it's thing to make it happen.
