Anyone know what remote code to use for the Toshiba 46H83 remote to be able to use it with the Comcast supplied Motorola 5100 cable box?
Thanks.
Try the General Instruments code.

I used the GI code and it only controls the numbers. I have the 65hdx82, so it may be different.
Another question though, does your remote make a buzzing noise when the backlight it on? Mine has the blue backlights, and whenever they come on, it emmits a small electronic sounding buzz.

I have a Radio Shack 8 in 1 remote with back light, and it too has a small buzz when the light is used. Drives my dog crazy!

same here with my 51HX83 remote. THought it was the TV at first, but it's not. It seems to happen more so when i'm in the menu.

No dice on the GI codes. I never use the backlight on the Tosh remote, so I don't know about the buzz.
Which Radio Shack remote do you guys use (Kamelon or something)? I'd like to consolidate remotes, to keep the wife less confused, but I don't want to break the bank on a remote control right now - I hope to upgrade my old Sony reciever instead.
I would like to control basic functions of the receiver (power, volume, inputs) and DVD player (menu, play, pause, etc). I would also like to control the TV Inputs, Stretch Modes, Menu items and the Cable Box functions - Guide, volume, channels, etc.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I typically stay away from Radio Shack products, they are usually cheap and don't last long. Go with the Sony RM-AV 3000, 100 bucks at ecost.com
Type "universal + remote" into the site's search engine. There are a few threads on various remotes. Also go to remotecentral.com.
