The manual that came with my 34pw 9818 states that the 15 pin plug input can be used with a variety of equipment, including a personal computer, which might be fun.
It makes no referance to required video settings (ex 800x600x 16 million colors, etc), and, not knowing for sure, I am hesitant to just plug it all in, for fear it might go **poof**
To any of you more worldly and the wiser, -- does it matter? and are there any "best suited " settings?

My Zenith only does 480p on its VGA input therefore the PC setting is 640x480. I have it set to max # colors (32 bit), seems to be OK.
If your TV does 720p you could try 960x720 on your PC if there is such a thing (don't think I've ever seen one). Most video cards don't output an interlaced signal so even if your TV does 1080i you won't be able to drive it with the PC.

I have the phillips 55pp9352 widescreen tv and have my ps connected through the db 15 connector. For the pc to work correctlly you have to download a free program called powerstrip. There is a great article on using this program on the website digital connection. Good luck!

Hi, I have a 34PW9818 and I have used the DB15 connection on the back but could only get it to work at 640x480....What I have currently is the computer plugged into the side svid jack and use it to record/playback shows, surf, etc...@ 1024x768 using the tv out on an ATI 7000. The main thing I have been having issues with is flicker from the tv out on different vid cards and the ATi with the current catalyst drivers seem to work the best....I am an Nvidia guy by heart but the tv out just doesn't work right....maybe some new drivers will fix it....hope this helps
Cheers!
