just got my new 57hx83 and the color is messed up or something, im watching wrestling and only certain things are in color on the screen!?!? any idea why?

Is it like everything is in color but the colors are wrong? Is it the same on all channels.
What are your contrast, brightness, color, tint and sharpness settings?
If you are using a component cable for your video make sure all three connectors are seated firmly. You can try removing one connector at a time and see if the colors change. Insert the connector before removing the next. This will tell you right away if you are missing one of the video signals, Red, Green or Blue. Do this only if the colors are really strange.

Give us a good verbal description of what you are seeing and what you have tried to correct it.

OK I have figured it out, its the s video outputs from the tv, when i plugged in a rca video cable it works fine but when i use the svideo outputs both video 1 and 2 outputs i get a black and white picture with color in some things only not the whole screen, i tried 2 diffrent s video cables and also tried another satellite box and got the same results... could the svideo connections be bad?

You mean the S-Video inputs on the TV?
You have tried two cables and two video sources. Does your DVD player have S-Video out. Maybe try that. If it is bad, sounds like the TV may have a problem.
Right off hand I can't think of a setting that could cause this, not in the TV at least. What cable boxes are you using?
Any other opinions out there??

I TRIED BOTH S VIDEO INPUTS ON THE TV AND THEY BOTH DO THE SAME THING. I ALSO TRIED 2 DIFFRENT S-VIDEO WIRES THAT I KNOW WORK.. I HAVE A PHILLIPS RECEIVER AND I ALSO TRIED TO SWITCH THE RECIVER WITH ANOTHER ONR FROM MY BEDROOM, AND SAME PROBLEM..... I HAVE THE STORE COMING OUT TOMMOROW TO CHECK IT OUT, SEEMS TO ME ITS A BAD CONNECTION IN THE SVIDEO PLUGS ON THE TV SET, MAYBE ONE OF THE TERMINALS IS BROKEN OFF OR SOMETHING BECAUSE LIKE I SAID I ONLY GET COLOR IN DIFFRENT AREAS ON THE SCREEN,,, AND I PLUGGED IN AN RCA VIDEO WIRE AND IT WORKS FINE..

You don't need to yell :) Sounds like you are on the right track.
All I was after was a different video source, in case both the cable boxes were the same model.
