I have a 42H81 television and was thinking about using the center channel input on the tv instead of the speaker that came w/ my receiver. I just wanted to double-check that this center channel input is expecting a powered signal....I'd hate to hook it up only to have it blow the speaker. Thanks for the help.

Your home theater receiver should have a center channel pre-amp out to run to the center channel input on the 42H81. It should use a single cable with RCA jacks on each end.
You should not hook up the center channel speaker out from the receiver to the TV using speaker wire. That would probably do some damage or at least distort the sound.
