I have the ct36hl43. The picture is much better in my house than at Circuit City. They were really pushing the Sony, especially the widescreen. So far I am very happy. I also got the panasonic progressive scan dvd (s-35 i think).

Insight is hooking up my HD cable on Thursday and I will report back but right now I have nothing but good things to say about this tv.

Picture is much better than my old 31" GE. I was worried about non HD channels but they look great.

what could you connect with the DVI socket this unit has? are there DVD players out there that enable you to connect them with DVI?

I'm not sure if insight uses the dvi input or component input but I'll post in a couple of days when they come out to install my HD box. I think samsung makes a dvd player with a dvi/ hdcp out. I would not buy a tv without a dvi input, even thought I might not use it yet.

Where did you find the TV for 1298? I thought I got a good deal for 1333 @ Circuit City.

do you know anything about the sony Sony KV36HS510 ? The sales person told me that Sony KV36HS510 was better than the panny because it has better surround sound and sony is the better brand. I kinda got the feeling that he was leaning towards the sony because he was gonna get a better commision from the purchase.

I don't know too much about that sony. I had a sony 35" (35kv35 i think) and the tube went after 4 years. I did not have a warranty so I was sol.

I was very impressed with the ct36hl53 sound. I think it has two speakers plus a subwoofer. For true surround sound you need to hook up to an external amp so the tv does not really matter.

If you get the sony let me know how you like it. I can still take mine back in the next three weeks, although I doubt I would.
