Anyone think a 17lb NHT Ac-1 is to much weight to rest on top of a Tosh 40H80?

Thanks,

Brian

I wouldnt worry about that kind of weight, I would be more concerned about the magnet. I had my center speaker on my TV for about 4 months and after a while notice a slight bow. With my current setup, the center and side speakers are mounted on the wall. The bowing has almost completely disappeared.

Well it's shielded so not supposed to happen but I'll keep an eye out for it.

Thanks

Rear Projection TVs are not really affected by speakers. "Tube" TV's can be affected by the magnetic field of the speaker magnet. You can actually see the colour distortion if you put an unshielded speaker next to a "Tube" TV. RPTVs are basically immune and all center channel speakers are shielded anyway. You only need to worry about the weight. 8 kg is not much weight on top of a 40" TV. (Sorry couldn't resist the use of metric, just once.)
