Scenium L50000
Has anyone out there purchased a Scenium L50000 yet? What did you pay? When/Where did you buy? Are you happy so far with your purchase?

For any techies out there: Is the LCOS 720p output to screen resolution a big disadvantage when compared to sets with a 1080i display resolution?

I've tried to see the information about the L5000 on the RCA website, but I cannot find it. Has RCA abandoned this product?

I ordered the L5000 from Costco Online two weeks ago and am awaiting delivery. Costco sold them with the stand for $3599 plud $295 white glove delivery. I have never seen the L50000 in the flesh, but can't wait to get it hooked up to my HD-direct tv and Toshiba SD-9200. The good thing about Costco is they a no questions asked return policy. Thomson only built 1000 units and Costco bought about 600 I was told and sold out in 8 days. At this price it was too good to pass up.

My L50000 is awesome, the only thing I wish is that was a 100 inch instead of 50.

I ended up buying the RCA HD61W140 and have been very happy with this purchase. Not as thin as the LCOS (22.75 inches vice 18.5), but the picture is great and it is packed with features (1394 Firewire, DVI, Built in ATSC Tuner, built-in Win 3.0 Internet w/wireless IR keyboard, 60-watt surround sound speakers). Best of all, the whole package was only $2749. I bought mine in January and it has worked great - knock on wood - for five months now! I bought the RCA three year extended warranty ($219), just in case.

I was worried about the lack of support for the L50000 since it was discontinued. Also, I really wanted the bigger set....and the 61" screen fits perfectly in my Great Room!

I understand that the HD61W140 can be bought for about $2500 at some dealers now...so shop around. But if you ask me, this is a great deal, even for list price!!
