I just had Cox cable installed and when we tried to hook up the LCD TV (directly to the cable) it will not scan the channels. I also tried going through our VCR and that also did not work. The TV has a picture on it and works just fine with the DVD player but it's not picking up the cable channels. Iknow the cable outlet works cuz we tried another TV and it works fine. It scans 0 channels and just shows the blue screen and a message that says "No Signal". The cable installer thinks maybe there's a problem with the ANT (cable) connection in the back of the TV??? Does that sound possible and if so, is there a way I can connect cable TV to myTV directly? I do not have a digital cable box or DVR box or anything. Someone suggested maybe the DTV converter boxes? Please help, I'm so lost and the Elements support people are of NO HELP! :sightv: Thanks in advance!

Check the user setup menus in the TV and make sure it's set to "cable" and not "antenna/air"

Thank you but I already did that. I set it on cable and we tried running the scan multiple times. Do you think it could possibly be something with the cable connection into the back of the TV? Do they go "bad"?

If the cable from the wall works on another TV, that pretty much indicates a possible problem with the TV's RF input.

You can always try connecting an indoor antenna if you can get OTA channels to verify. If that doesn't pick up anything... all you can do is rent a cable box.
