How to connect my HDTV to my PC

I just picked up my New toshiba 42" lcd hdtv (model: 42RV535U) and i am having trouble connecting my pc for movie and game playback. Just wanted to know if anyone had a nice guide or could help me get it right.

Use either a VGA cable or a digital cable (DVI-HDMI, HDMI-HDMI.)

The answer to this depends on your TV's INS and your computer's OUTS.
