QAM decoder

Anybody know anything about this decoder built into the TV? Anybody currently having any success using this decoder?

I connected my cable to the DTV input to see what it would find and it only found a few channels. Evidently the signal they are providing isn't compatible with the QAM decoder? Is this decoder only for HDTV cable signals? Will the QAM decoder only decode inputs from the DTV antenna input?
