Gentle People,
Yep, my very first HDTV and it's a James Dandy and that's a fact. As you see it's a 42RV530, connected via HDMI to the Dish Network HD, DVR receiver (new as of a month ago)
Now, the question. Regardless of what I try to do I only get 420i as indicated across the top of the TV screen whenever I start any 'show'. This occurs with recorded (DVR) or live, (off the receiver) on a known HD channel. While the picture is infinitely better than the CRT I had I'm pretty sure it's not optimal.
I've yet to see 1080p. I think I grasp the difference between 420i and 1080p (all that interlace stuff and actually 1080 pixels.)
Why is this. How do I get up to 1080 pixels of resolution. Blah, blah, blah.
As you would expect, I'm grateful for thoughts, input, and help up front.
Jim
