I had a Toshiba 61H71 delivered several weeks ago & was disappionted with the geometry, picked up a calibration DVD & determined that it was skewed 3" to the right, and 1" to the bottom right. The "Touch Focus" returned "Touch Focus Error". I did a 9 point convergence manually which made the picture better, but didn't help the geometry. As it was brand new & I didn't want to tinker with the service mode & make a return more difficult, I called the service folks.
Service guy took a look @ it & said the picture looks pretty good, what's the matter? I swapped the signal from broadcast TV to my calibration DVD & showed him the skewed geometry grids, & mentioned the geometry seemed "A little off." He pulled off a couple of panels & determined the particle board the CRT's are attached to was broken during manufacture/shipping/delivery, & authorized a replacement.
Hope other folks have better luck, I upgraded when I did the exchange & went with a Sony 61hs30 after a long talk with a friend of mine that does TV repair work. I told him I bought a big screen & the first words out of his mouth were "I really hope you bought a Sony."
