First off -- I know nothing about HDTV's which is why I'm hear so bare my lack of experience.

I have an Olevia LT32HVE.

According to newegg.com;

HDCP Ready: Yes
HDMI: Yes
HDTV Capability: HDTV Tuner Inside

From what I gather, that means it supports HDTV so I went and bought an small antenna for it.

When I hook the antenna in, I get some channels but they are not in HD, they aren't even cable quality.

So my question is -- what am I missing here? I'm just trying to get my local HD channels so I can watch the football game ;-)

Thanks!

If this helps, I went to http://ww1.titantv.com/quickguide/quickguide.aspx

KPHODT
CBS5.1
(17)
NFL Playoff
Jets at Patriots
(HD)

So I went to channel 17 and I get no signal on that channel.

From looking at the specs on the Olevia website, I think you have an LCD monitor. You need an external tuner(STB) to get any cable channels.

Yeah -- I thought it came with an internal one but I read the wrong specs.

Can you give me a link of a decent one that would work on my tv?

Thanks again!

Someone else was telling me about an qam tuner as well so I don't need an antenna.

Would it be best to get that instead?

Call your local cable company and see how much it would cost to rent a box from them. I don't know anything about Antennas and over the air(OTA) receivers.

Maybe you can return the TV for one with a built in tuner.
