Is there any point in buying a DVD with HDMI interface, and using that to connect to the set. I mean, the set is so small, how big of a visual improvement are we talking? I could see this on a 52" tv, but a 27" tv?
You're probably right regarding little difference on a smaller TV. Anyone reporting a difference on a very small TV is probably seeing the difference in the calibration of the different inputs, not the actual signal quality.

I think it should be better than Component Video since it stays digital to the HDTV instead of going to analog then back to digital. Would that be right 57U?
I am still waiting to actually try HDMI myself, as soon as that cable comes in the mail.

No, even though you asked 57U, I had an upscaling DVD player, and see them in stores, using HDMI/DVI looks no better at all verses component. I took back my upscaling DVD for that reason. Let your TV handle the scaling.

I'll be using SVHS, once i hack my amw dvd player...
S-VHS is a VCR format and has nothing to do with DVD players. If you meant S-Video, that connection is only capable of 480i, see the HDTV FAQ "Cables & Connections".
