I'm starting to wonder about the Insignia NS-27HTV.

Last few days been getting intermittent lines, slightly out of focus on the analog channels & dropouts on the digital channels. Cable checks out since when it's happening I get a perfect picture from my VCR's tuner. Then there's that popping in the audio when switching analog channels.

Found a couple of software bugs too. When you have the Aspect Ratio set to Auto, then go to a AV input from a HD 16:9 channel on cable, then go back to the cable input it switches the Ratio to 4:3 even though the channel is HD 16:9. Then you have to set it back to Auto with the remote to get your 16:9 picture back.
When you set your time setups for daylight savings time to Auto you will get a different time depending on the digital channel you are on, but setting this feature to Off keeps the time the same. Also when setting the time to Auto instead of manual causes the time to be inncorrect by like a half hour.

Glad I shelled out $50 for the Best Buy Service Plan since they have on site service for TV's 27" on up. So they are comming out Friday to check it out.

Well, they gave me a new replacement TV & it works better. Still has that popping sound when switching analog channels from the rear audio output jack, so apparently they all do it. It does have an Alignment problem with the channel changing indicator box in the upper right corner being slightly cut off at the top of the screen. Don't know if anything in the service menu can correct that.

The analog channels are slightly not clear & there is an occasional glitch in the picture on digital channels. Turning off SVM helps some. I have been having intermittent humbar problems on the analog channels so this could be causing the occasional glitch. I think the Cable Co has a bad amp or grounding problem in the field near me, which they are checking into.

It seems the inputs composite, s-video & component gives a good pic in any mode. Have yet to try HDMI though.

In my opinion these TV's just do not have very good tuners. The only time I will probably use the TV's tuner now is if I am recording 2 shows at the same time on my HD DVR Dual Tuner STB.

If anyone else has had similar problems with this model TV please add to this thread.
