`I am about to purchase my first HDTV. I am looking at a Dell 2400MP projector (unless someone here talks me out of it :D ) The projector has 3,000 ANSI, 2100:1 contrast ratio, 1024X768 pixels.
I will be placing the projector in my family room which has the usual amount of ambient light through the south side windows.
I would like information on what is the best kind of screen to get. Cost is an option. The projector costs $1,100.. and the Mrs doesn't want me to go very high with the screen costs. (she has her own TV in the living room) I like to watch movies and sports (and she doesn't)

Any help would be gearly appreciated.

Honestly, if you're only spending $1100 on the projector, you're going to want to get as good of a screen as you can reasonably afford. If you go with a cheap screen, it won't reflect the proper amount of light, and all that ambient light in your room will drown it out. My opinion, take the $1100 and put it towards a DLP or rear projection LCD. To get a decent projector and screen combo, you're looking to spend at least $3500 or better. Just my opinion. Also, look at Sharp projectors. The Dell you mentioned is ok, but it's more inclined to be used for something other than a dedicated home theater.
