I just did a 56 point convergence and saved my settings as suggested by pressing "7" twice and turn off tv to exit service menu, didn't use or press the Touch Focus when asked, everything was fine so I turned off the tv for approx. 20 minutes, when I turned it back on I went back in the service menu to double check the 56 point convergence I just worked on and noticed that many of the points drifted again, mainly the red. Am I doing something wrong?

I beleive pressing 7 twice saves the convergence along with pressing the touch focus button. I could easily be wrong tho. I usually press 7 twice myself.

Did it several times, convergence drifts after a while. I'm still under the extended warrantee, I called a Technician to come and check it out. This is not normal, I'm sure the convergence circuit board is screwed up.

You really need the grid. Geometry could be shifted so bad that the convergence IC's are under stress and can't hold.

Thank you Kevin,

Yes I fixed the geometry and in fact the convergence holds now, and saved by pushing TC, my convergence is much much better now.

This time of year is one of the two prime "convergence seasons" for all of us CRT folks. Temperature and/or humidity can cause changes in the cabinet and alignments.

I find I typically need to do a few in Apr/May, and again in Sept/Oct.
