Help, I have this tv running through a hd dvr box and everything. It is using component in, in hd the quality looks almost similar to normal cable, even though the tv registers at 1080i. What is going on, I changed settings from standard, which made it a bit better, but no where near where its supposed to be. Somebody help, should i be using a hdmi cable or what is the settings you guys use. Thanx in advance.

Which STB do you have? See the HDTV FAQ "Tips for SA STBs" if you have SA, see the one on Motorola if you have Motorola.

I assume you're talking about real HD programmes (16:9).
