Hello,
I am about to buy a plasma TV and most of the models I found that fits my budget were 1024 x 768. Is that a real 720P picture? Because I was told 720p would be no less than 1280 x 720 (I think). So how the 1024 x 768 picture would compare to that?

You'll good to go Odin,
The second number is what you want to look at, anything over 720 and your set.

See the HDTV FAQ on Resolution. This is certainly HD and is most likely a plasma around 42" in size. The larger plasmas can be 768 x 1366, or 1024 x 1024.
