I recently bought a 47" samsung HDTV...picture is okay using my Directv signal. I did use a Svideo cable to connect my ultimate tv receiver with the T.V. However, I'm wondering (and mind you I"m new at this stuff) if most people replace the coax cables running out of the wall outlet with monster cables? Or are those more expensive cables only used to connect the receiver or DVD player to the t.v. Anybody know for sure?

With tounge in cheek- You need to replace all the wire in your house with Monster cable as well as from the wall to your set....Uh No, everything is fine. I would however suggest you do read all the FAQ's and Do some searches in the Forum for Monster and TERK

Kevin: What in the hell did that post mean? Guess I swallowed the Monster cable but I could swing it, and it works fine:)

Even I have Monster cable. Before I new better I bought it to connect a DVD player, RCA Audio and a SVid cable. They work just fine as well as the AR or GE cable I bought. later at 1/2 the price.
What Irks me is that people are led to believe through advertising or sales people that Monster is even consdered high quality. There are many brands out ther that are far better.

If you have coax going from the Directv box into your TV, replace it with S-video, select S-video to watch Directv. Its a much better picture!!

The "Monster" brands are way over rated and over priced!

I sell monster cables but I also sell Audioquest. I definitely prefer the Audioquest, even their cheapest cables are silver plated which I have found makes a big difference in the higher frequencies with speaker cable. It makes sense to me that since Video is ultra high frequencies that silver would also be beneficial for video.
