I've read just about every post and am not sure if I have something similar or different, so I'm just going to go ahead and post to see what everyone has to say. Had my TV for just over a year now, hooked up to it is a Tohsiba DVD/VCR upconverting combo player via HDMI. I had the TV calibrated and what not prior to shipping by the store that I bought it from as well. Never had any problems, and last night went to play a movie, and the screen is full of green "blotches" all over.

I've never had problems with the "handshake" power-on issues, but not ruling that out, I tried to power everything off and turn back on to no avail. I tried a different cable and also tried the 2nd HDMI input in the TV, to no avail. I ended up finding an old S-video cable, and everything worked, so I was wondering if my issue would be with the TV or the DVD player? Or something else? The only thing I haven't done is power the TV off or try and re-set it (is there a way to do that)? Also, if I re-set it, will that "erase" the calibration done by the shop? Just seeing what everyone thought before I start making calls or replacing things. Thanks!

I've just got done powering down the TV and leaving it off for about 20 minutes. Still the same results. I tried 420, 780, and 1080 on the DVD player as well, still the same. I wish I had something else to test the HDMI ports on the TV, so hopefully I'll find something. Just wish I knew if it was the DVD player or the TV to narrow down what to do next.

Still no ideas from anyone? The start-up screen for the DVD Player itself even looks messed up and somewhat pixelated. Who knows....

Can you take the DVD to a friend's home that has an TV with HDMI or perhaps a retail store to test?

Ya, I think I'm just going to take the DVD player to the store where I bought the TV and test it there. Hopefully it's not the TV. :sightv:
