I have a Toshiba 57H84, and Im wondering where the reset button is. Im having trouble getting the TV to recognize a DVD player via HDMI, and after trying everything I could to get th tv to pick up the signal nothing has worked. I was told to try hitting the reset button, but I have no idea where this button resides. Any help will be much appreciated.

I dont think there is a reset button you could unplug it for 20 min or so not sure if that would help but worth a shot. Also make sure you turn the t.v. on before you turn on the dvd player this helps with the hdmi (hdcp) handshake.
good luck
I did a search for this TV and some sites say it has HDMI, some say DVI. If it's HDMI, you should be having no problems. If it's DVI, then quite a few people have had issues with Toshiba DVI HDCP handshake issues.
If you're using an adaptor for the DVI, try a direct HDMI/DVI cable. See the Following HDTV FAQs.

Im using a HDMI connection. I've used the HDMI before with a Upconverting DVD player and it worked fine, but Ive sold that player so cant test it anymore with that one. Im also using a Directv HD H10 reciever and the HDMI works fine with it. My sony upconverting DVD player and toshiba player both have HDMI connections, and the screen flickers strange colors when trying to use the HDMI on them. I will try unplugging the TV and seing if that helps.

I tried unplugging the tv for about 45 minutes, and it didnt work. Im thinking maybe the cord is a bad one. Its a cheap HDMI cable I bought off ebay for $13. I will try with a more expensive brand cable and see if that works.
More expensive doesn't always mean better, try unplugging/replugging the HDMI cable a few times. Sometimes they don't seat very well.
Buy the new cable with a good return policy in case...
