You should get high-quality cables, but Monsters, IMHO, have always seemed a bit overpriced. And the importance of cables depends more on your environment with interference/noise than anything.
Personally, in most cases where I live, I can hook up crappy s-video and audio cables that are provided with devices and not tell the difference between them and the higher priced cables.
Not to say I haven't run into some bad cables, but I can't say I've seen much difference between different cable types. Still I prefer decent cables since they tend to be more durable than the cheaper stuff.

I posted this in another thread about cables:
i have a mix of both Monster Cables and generic ones and I cant really tell the difference, but you might want to try Bettercables.com Very high quality, not cheap but less expensive, and they have great service.
I think that as long as you go middle of the line you should be fine.
I dont have a Toshiba but i dont think that really matters

Go to your local Target store. Or make your own with RG-6 cable and connectors from Radio Shack.

I dont think its really worth the trouble to make your own.

I will be purchasing Toshiba 57H82, but trying to get all my 'ducks in a row' before I do.
I have a nice set of really good cables that I have used with the typical audio right, audio left, and video. Will these work for the component input?
This is my first HDTV and am looking forward to it.
Thanks for all and any help!

I have a Toshiba TZ55X71 and your idea is exactly how I have my DVD connected. It has superior picture quality compared to S-video However I wonder if anyone has done a comparison to see if there is a difference.
