Just noticed a dead spider image on the far left/mid point of my screen. I'm not sure where it is and I need to know if possible what I need to take off and where so I can get inside. Looks like there is a panel on the front behind the speaker mesh held on with screws that I need a tiny socket for :( Also, when I took off the mesh I was able to peek inside and man where there a lot of dust on the mirror? The set is less than a year old and the room isn't even that dusty. Can I use some compressed air to clear that out once I'm able to get inside?
Thanks, TJ

dead bugs are common inside the less than airtight innards. happened to me twice.
some tips:
use compressed air first before wiping any surface. i used a camera lens "puffer".
do not use your mouth to blow on surface, you will deposit dirty moisture.
use lint free, non abrasive rag (some use disposable diaper) to wipe.
use distilled water if you must dampen rag, don't apply to surface.
wipe WITH ridges if surface has them.
do not use solvent etc on any surface, including lenses.
blow off surface after wiping too, there is always something left behind.
GENTLY everything!
i was in there removing a bug and wiped lenses and i was surprised it made a big
difference. we are not smokers but apparantly a film was deposited in 2 years.
i did not have the guts to clean mirror..having cursed at streaked windows in the past.
i once had a drip of some sort of sealer from behind bezel on my 57HX83.
it was orange in color. mystery as to what happened (clearly toshiba screwup)
but with gentle care i was able to remove from screen inside surface even though it was dried onto the surface. no sign it was ever there now.

Thanks for the tips Cougar :) I'll keep all of them in mind. Now all I need to know is the best way to get my hands in there :)

i don't have the 84 series but from what i have seen they are all generally the same. remove speaker grill, disconnect the wire connector (i think it is for
the touchfocus sensors in the screen), remove any decorative front piece
and the control panel...let the control panel hang by its wires. unscrew the screen retaining screws and lift it off. its pretty flexible so don't be surprised
by that...have a good grasp of the bezel as you remove it. mine slides up and out of hangar supports attached to the cabinet on either side of the screen.
the instructins for spltting my cabinet helped me to get started.
as i remember, one size of nut driver (and maybe a phillips head) will deal
with all screws to be removed.
trivial once you have done it :)
edit: oh yeah...on my 57hx83 there are 2 "hidden" screen retaining screws
that are only seen if you look at the bottom corners of the bezel from the REAR of the tv.
i don't know if yours is the same but it cost me several head scratches
the 1st time i did this.
