Hi

I tryed to program a so called universal remote control unit which come with my 26LX2 for using with my other equipment. I used instruction codes found in the LG manual. Devices I tryed to program: JVC amplifier, JVC dvd-recorder, Samsung STB, Pioneer Stereo.
None of my devices wanted to work with LG RC. Does anybody have a success story to tell?

I ran into a similar experience a while back with different brands of equipment. Perhaps this information will be helpful. Many codes provided in owner's manuals work with the devices specified, however some do not. You'll need to try every code listed for each device you wish to control. There is a good possibility that not every piece of equipment you have will have the correct codes for duplication of the original remotes' functions. Additionally, not every function available on one original equipment remote control can or will be replaced by those on the LG's or for that matter, any manufacturer's universal remote.

I recommend you look for and purchase a good, "learning" remote, such as the Sony RM-VL1000, or its newer replacement. This type of device not only uses manufacturer codes which allow you to quickly program it to be used with many devices; it also has a learning mode, where you can "teach" it to perform the same commands for those remotes where no codes are available.

Thanks E-Bass Man.

I have already considered the option of a new universal remote. Still I want to use as much as possible the equipment I already have. I probably should contact LG support.
My Samsung STB and JVC-recorder remotes also have this function but the codes are different. I am confused.
