I'm thinking about buying either one of these models. The place I'm purchasing it from sells them both for the same price, $999. From reading their respective descriptions, I can't really tell the difference. Is one better than the other?
I want to pull the trigger today, so any advice/suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated.

Never heard of the 57H84R. The R may mean refurbished so be sure to ask that question. If its refurb, obviously, the non-refurb is a better deal.

I too am planning to buy this unit (57H84R). I asked this question yesterday, via email:

Hello, those are the same TV . The R version has a small kickplate along the
bottom to protect the cabinet . Beyond that they are the same.
