I just bought this TV. It's awesome. Right now I only have cable connection. Set the mode as movie. Exceeded my expectation on cable and VCR signals. I have to buy a long cable to connect my DVD. Should look great. I am going to install directtv on saturday. waiting for HDTV decoder prices to come down.

57U is right read the FAQ... I just got the 42HDX82 and I am loving it. Originally I was also viewing my set in the "movie" mode but I have since made some changes based on the AVIA DVD. Color is higher, Tint was lower, Brightness was lower, Sharpness and Contrast was about the same (50).

I already took a print out of the suggetions by 57U. I am going to make the changes over the weekend. This morning a little bit scary event happened. When I turned on the TV it had a blue tint.
I turned it off. Turned on after 5 minutes. Then it came OK. I don't know whether it is a signal for some future problems....
