My television green light flashes, then it stops, but no picture comes on. I have reset the TV with the on off switch on the side, but no go. I looked at the bulb, it is fine. I looked into the area of the bulb when powering the TV, the light does comes on during the flashing green light duration, but shuts off as the green light goes solid right when the picture should come on. Why is my televion not turning on? And why cant I get a human for customer care anywhere from optoma. We spent a lot of money on this TV that is only 5 months old. Not a good thing. please help!!

well that didnt work. I am so frustrated with ecost in which I bought this unit & Optoma for having crapy customer support. I cant tel you how much trouble we have had with picking Optoma for our DLP. When working, the unit has outstanding picture quality for a 65inch. The first one we recieved was rolled in the house by ecosts FEDEX service. After going back & forth with ecost & Optoma, we finally received another unit 3 weeks later. Then had the old broken one sit here for another 2 weeks until ecost finally sent another truck to pick up the old one. It took them another 3 weeks to credit our account as well. Now it looks like we will be on to the 3rd TV, If I cant get a solid year out of this TV, I am getting rid of it & getting a samsung.

Good suggestion. I had a similiar self-inflicted problem. I was trying to blindly plug a fixture into the same GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) outlet that our Optoma RD50 was connected, when I notice the TV going off & on several times and then finally off. When I looked more closely, I realized that while trying to plug in the fixture, I was accidentally hitting the GFI test button, which in turn toogled the power on & off to the TV. Once I realized my mistake, I returned power to the TV, but it would not come on. I polked around the TV for awhile and could not find anything wrong. I was afraid that it was damaged. After about an hour I tried it again and low and behold it came back on as normal.
As for service, I would recommend you try their website at www.optomausa.com. I did have one occasion where I used their website to help me connect my PC to my Optoma RD50. Not ever hearing of Optoma brand before, I was not expecting much in terms of technical support. To my surprise, they promptly returned my request for assistance both via phone and email. Turned out that the problem was in my computer (needed updated graphic card software). Hope this helps your support experience improve.

Wish I was that lucky. Unplugged for 2 hours, still I can see the light come on & hear the fan in power up mode, as soon as the green light stops flashing & the screen would normally come on, The fan noise shuts down & the light shuts off. Then the green light goes solid, as if everything was ok. Arrgh! The only day I have had off in months, including weekends, Fathers day, and no TV. ivvay.

Are you looking for your screen to be blue? Have you tried different input sources?
I also went through Optomausa.com to their technical support area regarding the RD50 that I had and their support was pretty quick getting back to me.
I recomment Costco.com or Costco warehouses for these types of purchases because of their "satisfaction guaranteed" policy... I ended up returning my RD50 and purchasing an RD65 mostly because of computer "syncing" and HDCP issues and they even refunded my shipping costs...
Love my RD65 for the picture so far...
