Hi folks, great forum you have here. I've learned alot. Although I've searched most of the Toshiba threads I can't find anything on how to keep/save the Theater Mode settings for each individual source. Can that be done on a 57H84 which I just got today?
Thanks for any help.
BTW, great picture and sound! And a great price from Amazon.com @ $1460 + $119 for shipping from east to west coast.

Theater Mode. Do you mean the Theater Wide (stretch) modes or the SPORTS, STANDARD, MOVIE (picture) modes?
I don't believe the Toshibas save the TW settings by input.

The Theater Wide "stretch" modes - Natural, TW 1-3, and Full. Is there a way to lock them in for each source (ie. cable, DVD, etc.)? Thank you.
BTW, just watched I, Robot on my new 57H84, using only a Svid connection (moving the DVD player tomorrow for component input) and the the picture was beautiful, , especially compared to my old Pioneer Elite Pro 107, 16:10.
Also, CRT has DLP, LCD, and LCOS beat hands down for true blacks. Hope this unit lasts until SED technology is perfected and affordable. It will make all the other technologies absolete, except maybe for the burn-in issue. Imagine a phospherous display (CRT technology) hanging on your wall or on a small stand - 40 to 70 inches diagonal by 2 inches deep.
I thought post number 3 was pretty clear. If it doesn't do it as you switch inputs, I don't think there are any "settings" to have it do it.
My Hitachi does and that's one of the reasons I bought it - one button press with direct access to the input, with stretch mode saved, instead of several button presses on some TVs to change inputs and stretch modes...
Some A/V receivers are the same - some remember the "DSP" for each input, some don't. See the FAQ "If only I'd have known".

The short answer is nope, this is global across all inputs.

Given the variety of viewing sources I use...I don't think I'd want this anyway.
For two of my sources, cable and dvds, the stretch mode changes depending on what I'm watching.
However...with the Harmony remote, it's pretty simple to accomplish if that's what you want to do.
