I just picked up my new 57" Hitachi 57TWX20B Saturday and wanted to share my joy!

It looks increadible! Even most cable looks good. I was pleasantly surprised.

Plus, Comcast in Nashville, TN verified they will be coming out with an HDTV box soon. The lady I talked to said it would be $4.50/mo and would work with analog cable.

Thanks for all the info guys!

TOM, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new HDTV.

If you haven't done so already, check out the FAQ section, 6th one down on the home page, especially the post "what you need to do to your new HDTV".

I set pretty much everything on 35 except the brightness. It's on 50.

Plus, I'm doing the 100 hour burn in in stretch mode on stations with no logos or static images.

I'll get the AVIA DVD some time before the burn in is complete.

I studied the online forums for a couple of months before I bought the set.

Thanks!

Just so you know, there's nothing wrong with doing a setup right away with AVIA, and then doing a "touchup" in a couple of months. You may be able to enjoy the set a little more in the meantime...

I got it at HH Gregg. I used to work there years ago, so they gave me a good deal.

I didn't have it callibrated. It would be kind of early to do that. It's not even through burning it yet.

Not sure who I talked to at Comcast, I just called the phone # from the web site and talked to customer service.

The guy I bought the set from said one of the sales managers at the Cool Springs HH Gregg has managed to get one of the boxes already. He gave a good deal to someone high up at Comcast and they returned the favor. It's not available to the public yet, though.
