i just got the E44W46LCD last weekend and love it so far.
the only problem i am having is getting my home theatre to work with the tv. i've got the dvd player working fine and with volume, but when i try to listen to the tv on my home theatre i'm getting nothing.
i've got audio cables for the home theatre that i've tried in just about every combination between my home theatre, cable box and tv.
has anyone had a similar problem or have any possible solutions.

Normally, the manuals have diagrams for suggested connectivity options.
But, at a minumum, you should have red/white RCA cables connected from the TV's fixed audio outputs connected to the A/V receiver. And... the same from the cable box.
If your cable box has digital audio outputs (optical or coax) you will need to use that type of connection for Dolby Digtal, otherwise you can only get analog stereo (and use Dolby Pro-Logic for surround sound).

What Ratman said, except I don't think the set has fixed audio outputs. It only has variable audio outputs, which I think is a shortcoming. My guess is that you've turned down the volume on the TV so you don't hear it when the HT receiver is playing. Unfortunately, that means no feed is going from the TV to the receiver because it's a VARIABLE output. It's dependent on the volume setting. Unless you turn off the internal speakers (I think you can with a menu setting) you won't be able to hook it up this way.
I haven't even hooked up the audio outs on the TV. I connected the cable box analog outputs to the TV inputs on my receiver, as well as the optical audio output from the cable box to the receiver. My DVD player is hooked up the same way, except connected to the DVD inputs on the receiver. When I use the receiver, I turn down the TV's volume so I don't hear the lousy internal speakers.
There is a set of audio (red and white) connections below the Monitor Out video (yellow) connection. I haven't played with those but suspect they might be fixed audio outputs. I can't believe LG would build a set without fixed outputs.
Good luck!

I have one of these sets and have noticed a strange series of events.
Randomly and at no discernable time, there will be a loud POP and the volume drops. The volume then slowly returns to the original level.
Any one else running into this problem?

Was told by bestbuy tech that it is a software problem and can be fixed with a download. I have to try and get them out here again because he didn't have the correct fix on his laptop.

actually what I found is that if you shut the TV speaker off in the audio menu the tv sound is then sent through your surround sound system...

You have the three colors hooked up and the actual cable too. Take the cable out and it should go away.

Which three colors? Red/white/yellow or red/green/blue?
Which is the "actual" cable? What is the "actual" cable?
Which device should one remove the "actual" cable from? The TV, DVD player, cable box or the A/V receiver? :)
