Hi,
Sorry for a newbie question but why are these two lumped together.
I am looking at this unit at Costco,
http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11006337&whse=&topnav=&cat=3314&hierPath=79*3314*
Is it better than the Hyundai unit?
thanks
Don

I believe that Marantz and Maxent have absolutely no connection.

Why would you spend 1700 dollars on a 42 in ED TV. This TV will not display an HD image. The best you can get is 480p. Which is DVD quality.

I do not see them "lumped together." Did you do an alphabetic listing by chance?

I think he means the forum heading here on HDTVoice. This thread is posted in the "Maxent / Marantz HDTV Sets" section.

Yeah, I know. When I asked here (and elsewhere) about Marantz plasmas, I got zilch.

as of jan 14 costco is advertising a maxent plasma 42" 1024x768 for 2499. so far my research has shown me the only full hdtv maxent makes is a 50" that costco doesn't carry. i have seen the 42" edtv model mx 42vm10 at best buy for 1799., which wasn't a bad picture at all, but not hdtv.
can anyone clear this up for me as costco only takes orders and having to return a set this size is such a pain.

i called maxent ( regent usa ) on the phone and yes this is a 1024x768 42"hdtv for 2499. at costco. however this is not a maxent but really a sampo, model 42xp10. i can find nothing anywhere regarding price or reviews about this model. i see other sampo models but not this one. given the low price i'm a bit sceptical. can anyone give me some insight before i make a $2500 blunder?
