Spend at least $200 for a PS player and stay away from the cheapies by Apex and Samsung, they will only cause headaches and the PS will be worse than a good 480i player.

Toshiba, Hitachi, Panasonic, Sony are some suggestions. You should think about if you want them to play other formats and check that they do, if that's of interest to you.

I thought most HDTVs had a 2:3 pulldown circuit in one of their viewing modes (usually movie mode). If your TV doesn't, then that circuit in the DVD player would be worthwhile. If your TV has it, your DVD player doesn't need it.

I have a JVC, the DVD audio one, the 723. It works amazingly well. Before you buy, check the web for reviews on brand name models, preferably sites like this one and "Soundandvision" or (I think it's)"HDTV galaxy".

If you can try and find a Panasonic rp56. Excellent DVD player for the money. Has Faroudja technology for an extremely crisp picture.
