Need help with new 46H84

I just got the TV today. Dish 811 coming on Friday but now using a 301 receiver (s-video).

Turned the contrast down to around 40, but picture stays in 1080i mode and I can't seem to get it to 540p. NEVER MIND HERE...THIS NEEDS TO BE A 480P DVD TO DO THIS.

It looks a little jumpy on 1080i with the s-video.

I am going to use the Avia set up disc but not until this weekend.

Any suggestions?

I would wait until you get the new receiver before doing anything. As for the 540p, you do not necessarily need a dvd. If you have a tuner that will output 480p, the TV won't know the difference. If you like 540p you could watch everything that way.

I just want to convert the normal (non-HD) satellite from 480 to 540P through the components. The HD stuff, I will leave at 1080i.

811 receiver comes tomorrow. I will check out eveything in the next day or so.
