This is my TV. I got it back in July.

For the last few days when I watch TV I see red static where dark colors should be and turquios color in the light part of the tv. This happens of both HD and SD programming. It also happens on my XBOX. Does anyone else have this problem?

Could this 'static' be caused by some type electrical interference in your home (or something close to your home)?

The TV repairman came to look at it and said it was "mosse"??? I wasn't here, my roommate was. Has anyone heard of the term "mosse?"

No... and what was the repairman's recommendation?

The TV repairman came and replaced the video board. A day later it's worse. I'm starting to think that Zenith makes lemons.

The repairman came back today to look at my tv. Of course, it was working properly. The repairman mentioned if this is really a problem(first mistake). Then he came to the conclusion that the red static is due to the cable box, not the tv. I explained to him that it happens when it goes through the DVD and XBOX. He couldn't understand. He still held his ground and said it was the cable box.

He left without fixing it. I spent $2900 on a lemon. This is bull****. Is it against the law to shoot people like him???

What the hell do I do now? I've tried to contact Zenith, but I can't find a number on their website. I'm trying to get in touch w/ Best Buy and demand a new TV.

AHHHGGG!

I feel your pain..... IMO Best Buy is slightly better than having the Pep-Boys fix your set. No matter what they say or advertise, they have NO knowledge of the technology, and their technicians know less about Home Theatre than my cat. To make a long story short, it took them 3 visits to come to my house (without a Service remote) and over 2 MONTHS to attempt to order a part from somewhere (since when I called LG and they told me that nothing in the set has more than a 14 day lead time). Do a google search on Best Buy and Ohio and you will find some very interesting (in a very bad way) about Best Buys practices - selling used sets as new, etc....

With that being said, Call Zenith customer service directly at 1-877-993-6484, (in the owners manual). Tell them your problem with Best Buy and tell them you want their recommended Service Center (they have a rating for each one) for your area. Call them and ask them if they have any experience in calibrating RPLCD and go from there....

Thats what I did and they had the set fixed in 3 days...

Good Luck

I was looking at this set yesterday in BB, it is dirt cheap now, around 1600 bucks. From what the sales idiot told me, the zennith is so cheap becasue they are trying to get rid of those sets, and zennith is no longer producing those tv's becasue LG bought them out. I would probably buy the tv but I am affraid that if i do and somthing goes wrong, would LG honer the 1 year warrently and would there even be parts for that model since they are not making them anymore

LG has owned the "Zenith" name brand for several years. The copyright date on the E44W46LDC's owner manual is listed as 2004. (The copy for the documentation is typically submitted to the publisher during the mid part of the year preceeding the product model year so things like user manuals will be available to stuff in the shipping cartons at the factory...) The E44W46LCD is in all liklihood a 2005 model released to market in late 2004.

I'm probably going to be buying this set early next month. Anyone think I should or shouldn't? My one only concern was that when I went to see it at Best Buy you could definitely notice a significant loss of detail in darker areas as compared to the 46" Samsung DLP it was sitting next to. Of course, the Samsung cost $500 more and who knows what brightness or contrast settings they had there. Any thoughts?

i'm probably not the best person to say because i've only had mine for seven days. but i love it so far. i thought the picture looked good at bb, and i think it looks just as good at home. i only wish i'd been able to watch more than 3 football games on it.

Ive had mine for a few months now and still like it. It is definately a good bang for the buck, though I probably would have opted for Sony or another model with a larger screen if I hadn't had size constraints. I love the fact that this TV does not have speakers on the sides (just under 40" wide overall).

I think my biggest complaint about this TV is the screen door effect. It's not unbearable for me, though it is more noticable (uneven) than the Sony RP LCD models.

I did notice the screen door effect on there and was trying to decide if it would bother me or not. I almost had my heart set on this TV but I went to a different Best Buy that the one I first viewed it at and their set had a 1" thick discolored band running horizontally along the bottom edge. Makes me concerned about quality issues.

I've never seen color bands... though I played it safe and got the 4yr service plan.

I have been researching the possibilty of using wide screen (42"+) HDTV.s for replacing projected computer images in a public school setting. Bulb replacement costs for projectors is a major concern and the cost for thin, wide screens is now approaching the cost of the projectors we have been purchasing. Do any members of this group have enough experience with this type of application that you can provide me with some recommendations for which units work well, have reasonable maintenance costs (8000 hour bulb life as opposed to 2000 hour bulb life for our projectors, for example) and are reasonably easy to interface with a computer? Also, do I need to invest in HDTV to get get good resolution and clear text images from the computer or can I get by with EDTV quality? Any other suggestions will be appreciated.

thanks for the input Jamis. I think I'm going to go with it. it or the 46" samsung dlp. I really think the zenith size is much better for my area though.
